Tulip, who is a Labour Party politician and an elected councillor from London's Regent Park, told bdnews24.com that her aunt Sheikh Hasina would travel to London to attend a private ceremony for family and friends.

Tulip, who turns 31 this September, gave just one name for her husband, Chris, who studied at the Cambridge University before joining the civil service.

Tulip, who studied English literature as an Undergraduate and then for her Master's at University College of London, has been pursuing a career in British politics.

She chose politics, policy and government for her second Master's degree at the UK's top King's College.

She has been a cabinet member for culture in Camden Council, a central London borough. Her election to the position was a first for a Bengali woman.

Granddaughter of Bangladesh's founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Tulip was born in London in 1982, seven years after he had been brutally murdered by a band of military officers.

Tulip is now hoping to run for parliament from the Hamstead and Kilburn constituency, which is now represented by celebrated actress Glenda Jackson of Labour Party.

She was part of the successful leadership campaign team of Ed Miliband, widely believed to be Britain's next prime minister.

She has also worked for the Barack Obama campaign team in 2008.

Tulip's career included stints at Amnesty International, Greater London Authority, Save the Children, and she sits or has served on the board of the local NHS Trust, several schools and rights groups.

Second among three siblings, she is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has worked as a special adviser to a British Cabinet minister and several other senior politicians.
