Bangladesh has been experiencing heat waves across the country, with a high of 41.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga on Friday
The deceased have been identified as Anar Mia, of Shabazpur village, Ansar Ali of Bijoynagar’s Rampura village, Nasir Mia of Nabinagar’s Bidyakut village and Safia Khatun of Haripur Village.
Sarail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Uttam Kumar Chakrabarti said all of the male victims were farmers but could not identify the injured immediately.
He said the one-hour storm started at around 10am.
He said the storm damaged some 100 houses in Konaur village of Kaitala under Nabinagar Upazila and Nimayatpur village under Kosba Upazila.
The villagers said it also damaged a lot of crops there.
