6 injured in Alia Madrasa clash

Two groups of students of pro-government Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have clashed over seat distribution at the dormitory of Government Alia Madrasa at Bakshi Bazar in Dhaka, leaving at least six injured.

Dhaka, Mar 9 (bdnews24.com) — Two groups of students of pro-government Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have clashed over seat distribution at the dormitory of Government Alia Madrasa at Bakshi Bazar in Dhaka, leaving at least six injured.
Chwakbazar Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Mahmudul Haque on Friday told bdnews24.com the clash took place on the street in front of Allama Kashgir Hall early on Thursday.
The injured — Mohammad Shaker, 20, Mohammad Kawsar, 20, Mohammad Alauddin, 21, Mohammad Saidul, 21, Mohammad Asad, 21, and Mohammad Lokman, 22 — have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Shaker told reporters at the hospital that the the 'seniors and juniors' of BCL fought over seat distribution.
The Madrasa's BCL unit members declined comment on the incident.
SI Haque said the students resolved the dispute between themselves later on.
