Dhaka, Nov 29 (bdnews24.com) – Former whip and former central Chhatra League leader Abdul Rouf has died at the age of 70.
He breathed his last at the city's Green Life Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.
Rouf had been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Hospital on last Wednesday with lung disease, Rouf's son-in-law Mahbubul Alam told bdnews24.com.
Abdul Rouf used to live in Uttara, Dhaka. He leaves behind two daughters and a son to mourn his loss.
"His body will be taken to Domra in Nilphamari after the namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) at parliament's South Plaza after the Ashr prayer," Alam added.
Rouf, also the former chief of East Pakistan Chhatra League, was elected as the Awami League Member of Parliament (MP) thrice from a Nilphamari constituency.
