Dhaka, Dec 29 (bdnews24.com)—The interview of the candidates who want to contest the upcoming by-elections in two constituencies with Awami League tickets will be held on Thursday.
The Awami League parliamentary board, headed by party president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina, will interview the nomination seekers at her official residence at 6pm, a press release said on Wednesday.
So far, 10 hopefuls have collected nomination papers for the elections in Habiganj-1 and six for Barhmanbaria-3, to be held on Jan 27. The two seats fell vacant after the death of their two MPs.
Awami League MP from Habiganj-1 Dewan Farid Gazi died on Nov 19 while Brahmanbaria-3 MP Lutful Hai Sachchu on Nov 22.
