Former Vice Chancellor (VC) of the National University Aftab Ahmad was shot in the city Saturday.
Dhaka, Sep 23 (bdnews24.com) – Former Vice Chancellor (VC) of the National University Aftab Ahmad was shot in the city Saturday.
SM Mizanur Rahman, commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) told bdnews24.com that the unidentified gunmen stormed his quarters on Dhaka University campus at around 6:30 pm and pumped several bullets.
Seriously injured Aftab was admitted to the Shamarita Hospital from where he was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Dr ABM Harun of Shamarita told bdnews24.com that the VC sustained three bullet wounds, including one in his chest.
"As he is still in shock, we sent him to the CMH," DR Harun added.
His condition is stated to be critical, the DMP commissioner said.
