Dhaka, Feb 24 (BDNews) – The parents of Sharmila Shahrin Paulen, a student of Mymensingh Cadet College who allegedly committed suicide recently, urged the government to form a judicial committee to investigate the death of their daughter.
Speaking at a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club Thursday, they held two army personnel and some officials of the college responsible for the death.
In a written statement, the father MA Bashar Patwary and mother Taposhi Kawsar Majumder alleged that their daughter was killed but the college authorities have been trying to prove the incident as suicide.
They alleged that police also refused to take case in the face of their influences. Consequently, they were compelled to file a case in the court.
Paulen's parents claimed that adjutant of the college Major Najmul and Sergeant Nowsher in association with the Principal of the college Khademul Huq, house tutor Abul Hossain, security guard Hena and Supervisor Abdul Khaleq killed their daughter as she did not give in to the adjutant's 'sexual advances'.
