A new case has been lodged at the International Crimes Tribunal accusing former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 52 others, including 29 senior journalists, in connection with the alleged 'genocide' during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.

Md Golam Razzak, the father of Nasif Hasan Riyad, 17, who was shot dead during the protest, filed the complaint on Thursday, his lawyer Gazi MH Tamim said.

Nasif was killed on Aug 5 evening at Shyamoli Ring Road in Mirpur soon after Sheikh Hasina fled the country in the face of a mass uprising, Tamim said.

The other accused include former roads and bridges minister and general secretary of the Awami League Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former law minister Anisul Haq, former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, former information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, former education minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel, former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former state minister for information and broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, former lawmaker Jahangir Kabir Nanak and several former ministers, and state ministers.

The list also includes the former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam, former inspector general of police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, ex-Detective Branch of police chief Harunor Rashid, Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner Habibur Rahman and some other corrupt police officials and members, former director general of Rapid Action Battalion Harun-Ar-Rashid and some corrupt RAB officials.

Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, professor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, and retired Supreme Court justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik are also named in the complaint.

The accused journalists include former press secretary to prime minister Nayeemul Islam Khan, former information affairs advisor to prime minister Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, former president of the National Press Club Farida Yasmin, former general secretary of the press club Shyamal Dutta, editor-in-chief of Ekattor TV Mozammel Babu, journalist Nobanita Chowdhury, former head of news of Somoy TV and current head of news of Ekhon TV Tushar Abdullah; Jugantor Editor Saiful Alam, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, former Samakal editor Abed Khan; head of news of ATN News Provash Amin; former Ekattor TV journalist Farzana Rupa; former head of news at Ekattor TV Shakil Ahmed; Ekattor TV's Head of Current Affairs Mithila Farzana; DBC editor Zayadul Ahsan Pintu, and former editor-in-chief of ATN News Munni Saha.

Earlier, six cases were filed at the ICT over killings during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement against Hasina, former ministers, and AL leaders.

Another case has also been lodged over the Shapla Chattar killings.
