It has been alleged in the letter that activists from the ruling Awami League and the police hampered the leftist alliance’s campaign and tore down the promotional posters.

Eight left-leaning parties have formed an alliance for the 11th parliamentary election scheduled for Dec 30.

The Leftist Democratic Alliance Central Election Managing Committee Coordinator Shah Alam filed the complaint on Saturday.

The ‘allegations’ read as follows:

The campaigns of the Leftist Democratic Alliance of Dhaka-6, Dhaka-12, Dhaka-13, Dhaka-14, Dhaka-17, Patuakhali -4, Kushtia-3, Satkhira-1, Jamalpur-2 and Dinajpur-4 seats were hindered.

There was an attack on Dhaka-12 constituency election candidate Junaid Sakir’s campaign in Farmgate on Dec 13.

Promotional posters were allegedly torn down and campaigning was obstructed on Dec 11 and 12 in the Mogbazar, Eskaton and Manipur areas.

The police allegedly thwarted the campaign of Kushtia-3 constituency candidate Shafiur Rahman Shafi.

The Awami League alliance activists allegedly attacked during a roadside meeting held by leftist candidate Azizur Rahman from the Satkhira-1 constituency.

A group of Awami League workers allegedly attacked ‘Kaste’ supporters in local Khalishkhali Bazar on Friday.

The CPB general secretary requested the EC to take quick action on these allegations.
