Candidates began campaigning for the Dec 30 election after the returning officers allocated the logos on Monday.
They will be able to solicit votes until Dec 28 midnight.
A total of 3,065 candidates had submitted nomination papers. The returning officers allocated the symbols after scrutiny and appeal hearings.
Out of the candidates who have assigned symbols, 1,745 belong to the political parties while the 96 others are independent.
The commission on Monday also called a meeting on law and order for Thursday.
Senior officials of the law-enforcing agencies and the army along with the returning officers and top officials of the local police and administration will attend the meeting.
More than 104.2 million voters are expected to cast their vote at 40,183 polling stations in the general elections.
