The former BNP leader was vying for candidacy for the Dhaka-17 seat.
Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer KM Ali Azam pointed out the issues on his nomination paper during the scrutiny on Sunday.
Huda replied that the name of his party was Trinamool BNP and he also leads an alliance called Bangladesh Nationalist Front.
“I want to contest together with the 14-Party alliance,” he said.
“No, we can’t accept it (information) the way it is now,” the returning officer replied.
Huda then sought clearance as an independent candidate.
“No sir, you haven’t mentioned that either. So we can’t accept your nomination,” Azam said.
Nazmul Huda had floated the BNF alliance and later the Trinamool BNP after being ousted from the BNP as a member of its policymaking body.
He sought the Awami League’s ticket for the Dhaka-17 seat after joining the Grand Alliance led by the ruling party recently.
