Baby Naznin, Helal Khan buy BNP nomination forms for Nilphamari and Sylhet

Singer Baby Naznin and actor Helal Khan, two famous stars of Bangladesh, have bought nomination forms seeking to contest the upcoming parliamentary election on the BNP ticket.

The singer intends to compete for the Nilphamari-4 constituency while the actor wants to run from Sylhet-6.

Both of them collected the nomination papers from the BNP’s central office from the capital’s Naya Paltan area on Monday.

Helal Khan is the general secretary of the BNP’s cultural affairs front, Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha or JaSaS.

Naznin, who is also involved with JaSaS, is well-known as a BNP supporter.  She has been featured several times at various party events and has addressed Khaleda Zia as her ‘mother’.

In the childhood, Naznin took part in a Bangladesh Television programme named ‘Natun Kuri’ during the reign of President Ziaur Rahman and achieved nationwide fame.  

“I want to work for the people of Nilphamari. For a long time, I have continued to work in that area under the instructions of the BNP chief,” Naznin told the media after collecting the form. 

“The BNP is taking part in the next polls to restore democracy. I want to be a candidate in the election to be a part of this. I believe I will be able to represent our madam in the seat.” 

Naznin hopes that the BNP will select her for the nomination.

Actor Khan bought his nomination paper as he was swarmed by hundreds of supporters.
