The 13-year-old boy, identified as Jakir Hossain, was yet to be fully identified. Police were yet to ascertain the exact cause of his burns.

The other, identified as Abdur Rahim, helper of a truck driver, was a petrol-bomb victim from Thursday night's arson attack on a truck in Bogra.

Doctors pronounced him dead around 10:15am on Friday, said DMCH police outpost Inspector Mozammel Haque.

Rahim was taken to the hospital around 4am after being severely burnt in the attack at Bogra's Nungola on Thursday night.

His body suffered 39 percent burns, said the police officer.

Earlier, the boy, Jakir, died around 12:30am while undergoing treatment. The identities if his parents and address were yet to be known.

He was brought to the hospital by Savar's Ganswasthya Nagar Hospital authorities about half-an-hour before that.

The boy's body had 70 percent burns. The Ganaswasthya Nagar Hospital authorities said several persons took Jakir there in critical conditions on Jan 13.

Inspector Mozammel Hossain said the cause of Jakir's burns could not be determined.

His body was kept in the DMCH morgue.

Ganaswasthya Nagar Hospital residential doctor Parmeshwar Mahta said one ‘Nayan’ had brought Jakir to the hospital around 8:30pm on Jan 13.

The doctor quoted Nayan having said he had found the boy at the Savar bus stand left there by some people who came in a car.

Savar Police Station OC Mostafa Kamal said no vehicle was burnt in Savar on the day the boy had been taken to the hospital.

“We are investigating how he was burnt,” he said.
