Conservationists call for urgent measures to safeguard the declining population of Olive Ridley turtles
"I adopted this lion cub with the hope that all human beings and animals can live in peace and harmony," Ban told reporters Saturday in the Kenyan capital.
"Human beings should know how to live harmoniously with mother nature," he said.
He named the cub Tumaini, which means hope in Swahili.
"I sincerely hope this lion will grow healthy, strong and even fierce," he said.
