Shahbagh ‘battle’ now on cyber space

‘Cyber warriors’ upholding the cause of the Shahbagh protests are now bracing for a battle in Net space against those trying to run down the movement.

The ‘Shahbag e Cyber Juddho’ facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/shahbagecyberjuddho) has now taking the battle to the virtual world.

About 60 volunteers are updating the latest information of the movement from Shahbag, said the page administrator.

Youngmen and women, intensely concentrating on their laptops, were aplenty in front of the National Museum on Saturday.

Slogan ’71, Dhaka University Film Society, Dhaka University Journalist Association, Dhaka University Tourist Society, Probhatferi and Dhaka University IT Scociety have started backing up these 'cyber warriors' in the battle for the nation's mindspace..

The page was launched Saturday evening and within six hours had a thousand likes, said Slogan ’71 President Delwar Hossain.

Relevant information is being updated after every five minutes, he said.
