Sheikh Jamal win Bangladesh football league

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club have won the Bangladesh Premier Football League with two games to go beating Dhaka Abahani Limited 1-0.

Haitian forward Wedson Anselme’s stunner from outside the box in the 71st minute handed the club their first title in four years.

The goal was Anselme’s 22nd in the league.

Nigerian striker Emeka Darlington is the second highest scorer with 21 goals.

The Dhanmondi club needed only one point from the last three matches but confirmed the crown with 58 points from 25 outings.

Second placed Abahani had 46 points from an equal number of matches.

Sheikh Jamal previously clinched the title on their debut in 2010.
