According to the party’s research wing, Center for Research and Information (CRI), they started the live feed from 10am on Saturday morning and would continue till the closing of the party’s 20th council on Sunday evening.

The council is taking place at the historic Suhrawardhy Uddan in Dhaka from where the party’s founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared Bangladesh’s independence in 1971.

Apart from the regular sessions, the CRI has organsied interactions between grassroots activists and young politicians under its signature programmes ‘Let’s talk’.

Sabbir Bin Shams, CRI Executive Director, said this initiative opened up opportunities for those grassroots activists who could not join the council.

“But they can still stand in solidarity with the participants at the venue, making the council inclusive,” he said, adding that “their stress on social media was aimed at spreading the glorious past and current development activities of the party.”

They started the online campaign seven days before the council. So far, the traffic of the facebook page was over 10 million.

The CRI also displayed party’s history since its birth in 1949 using both photos and videos in the council venue.
