BNP’s media wing member Shamsuddin Didar said on Saturday, “We do not have cable television service in the office.”

“I also cannot access internet in one of my computers,” he added.

Earlier, he said, “There’s been no electricity since 2:37am,” and claimed that it was a deliberate act by the authorities.

Power was restored using private generator around 5am. But generator was stopped around 1pm after it had run out of fuel.

Khaleda Zia’s Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan said no one in the building could sleep at night.

Khaleda has been staying in the building, used as her office, since Jan 3.

Police stopped her from leaving the office to attend a party demonstration on Jan 5.

She responded by calling a countrywide nonstop blockade demanding snap polls.

Police removed all barricades from in front of the building two weeks ago but the BNP chief decided to continue staying there.

Sharmila Rahman, wife of her late son Arafat Rahman Coco, too, is staying in the building with her two daughters.

Along with the officials, several BNP leaders are also staying in the building.
