Ananta Chandra Das, the father of slain boy Biswajit Das, on Friday alleged the autopsy report of the old Dhaka youth had been toned down by the doctors for ensuring lesser punishment to the killers.

"My son had sustained multiple stab wounds. But I have heard that doctors have mentioned about only one injury in the post-mortem report," Das told a press brief organised by the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote (BJHM) at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium.

He also demanded punishment for the killers and said, "The real killers should get punishment, not the innocent ones."

Biswajit's mother Kalpana Rani Das said, "I don't want that any other mother should lose her son the way I did."

Uttam Kumar Das, the elder brother of Biswajit, rejected the autopsy report and asked doctors to prepare a new one.

Speaking at the programme, BJHM General Secretary Gobinda Chandra Pramanik demanded arrest of the doctor and Sutrapur Police Station SI, who prepared the report.

He also asked the government to provide Tk 10 million to the family of Biswajit in compensation.

"We came to know through newspapers that he (Biswajit) had around 25 stab wounds."

However, Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital Forensic Department physician Makshudur Rahman told bdnews24.com Biswajit had only three stab wounds on his person.

Biswajit was beaten and hacked to death by some Chhatra League men during the countrywide road blockade programme enforced by the BNP-led 18-Party Alliance on Dec 9.
