Against the backdrop of non-stop suicide bombings, thousands of musallis all over the country raised their hands to the almighty Allah during jumma prayers to get rid of the suicide bombings that make the lives of the common people hell.

Dhaka, Dec 9 (BDNEWS) – Against the backdrop of non-stop suicide bombings, thousands of musallis all over the country raised their hands to the almighty Allah during jumma prayers to get rid of the suicide bombings that make the lives of the common people hell.
Meanwhile, the Imams of different mosques, including the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram national mosque Maulana Obaidul Haque, while conducting khutba and special munajat, said that those who were killing people with bombs, are the enemies of Islam and people as well.
Hundreds of musallis, across the country, under the banner of different Islamic parties brought out processions chanting anti-bombing slogans after jumma prayers.
Baitul Mukarram Khatib Maulana Haq blamed the foreign force for patronising suicide bombings in the country.
He also urged the government to find out the sources of the money of the militants.
Haq also condemned the deadly bomb attacks saying those who are doing this in the name of Islam, are harming Islam.
"Islam can't be established through bombing," the Khatib said while conducting a munajat (after prayer special sermon) of the jumma prayers at the national mosque.
Hundreds of musallis took to the street in front of Baitul Mukarram after jumma prayer amid tight security. A tense situation was prevailing in the area apprehending bomb attacks on the procession.
Under the banners of different Islamic parties, including Hijbut Tharir Bangladesh, Nezam-e-Islami Party, Khilafat Majlish and Islami Oikya Andolan, brought out processions protesting the suicide bombings.
Khatib Obaidul Haque led the procession. No untoward incident took place.
"Islam is the religion of peace and it does not support violence," Khatib said adding: Shaekh Abdur Rahman is the enemy of Islam.
Meanwhile, the state minister for religious affairs Mosharraf Hossain Shahjahan, who also offered prayer at Baitul Mukarram national mosque, told the reporters that he offered prayer here to create awareness against the suicide bombings.
A heavy contingent of police was deployed in and around the Baitul Mukarram before and after the jumma prayer. Besides, members of different intelligence agencies in plainclothes were also put on a high alert at that time.
Close Circuit Cameras were set up at the rooftop of the mosque. Moreover, a number of police were put on high alter on different rooftops of other high-rise building and foot-over to avert any untoward situation.
A police van equipped with ambulance facilities followed the procession of Islamic parties.
Tajul Islam, Sub Inspector of Paltan thana told BDNEWS that at least 100 policemen were deployed to avert subversive acts during jumma prayer and procession.
"Besides, plainclothes police were also deployed in and around the Baitul Mukarram," he added.
Meanwhile, the Imams of others mosques in the city, including Sheorapara Kendriya Jam-e mosque, told the musillis that Islam does not permit militancy.
Besides, BDNEWS Jhalakathi, Nilfamari, Bandarban and Rajshahi correspondents also said that the imams of different mosques also conducted khutba and munajat against increasing suicide bombings across the country.
In Rajshahi, grilled Dr Asadullah Al Galib led Ahle Hadith brought out a huge procession protesting countrywide bombings.
