“Yes we are aware of the development. In fact, we have asked for a detailed report from the security agencies based in Assam,” said a senior home ministry official on condition of anonymity.

Interestingly, JMB’s training camp was running under the cover of a marital art training school.

“It is learnt that the training school was started on September 7 and it was in its initial stage,” the official said.

He The official said National Investigation Agency (NIA) might be asked to investigate the incident.

After the bomb blasts in West Bengal’s Burdwan, which revealed JMB’s terror plans in India, NIA exposed the terror outfit’s operating modules active in Assam.
The recent unearthing of JMB’s training camp in Assam could be a tip of an iceberg of the outfit’s larger plan to spread its tentacles across the northeastern region.
Investigators said one Ashique alias Burabhai of Barpeta district of Assam was the main kingpin in operating the training school.
Police have so far arrested ten people in this connection.
“We are looking for the other cadres who had undergone training besides Ashique,” an investigator said.
At least 28 army fatigues besides arms and ammunition were recovered from the training camp.
Six people having links with the jihadi elements were also nabbed from Goalpara and Chirang districts of Assam last week.
Two country-made AK-47 rifles and three mobile hand-sets were seized from their possession.
Security forces also nabbed Sahanur Alam, a key operative of the JMB, from the state a few months ago.
