Shah on Monday viewed that the NDA government was giving maximum priority to border security unlike the Congress-led UPA government.

He said the government was taking strong action against the unprovoked firing by Pakistan in the Kashmir border.

Taking a dig at the Congress leader, the BJP president said Rahul Gandhi could not see the differences because he was wearing ‘Italian’ spectacles.

Addressing a public rally in Agartala, Shah said, “Rahul baba recently said Pakistan border in Kashmir continued to flare and the situation had not changes since NDA came to power.  Where is the difference? He cannot see the difference because he is wearing Italian spectacles.”
He said unlike in the past, the security forces now were giving befitting reply.
“If they throw bricks we retaliate with stones. (eent ka jawaab hum patthoro se dete hen). We are now replying to Pikastan’s bullets with shells, which led to the reduction of tension along the border.”
Shah claimed that what the UPA government could not do in last ten years, the NDA government led by Prime Minister Modi did in last eleven months.
“Modi government took initiative to bring back black money stashed in foreign countries. A law has been enacted with a provision for 10 years of imprisonment for those holding black money,” he added.
Criticising the Left parties, the BJP president alleged that the Communists had supported the UPA government which was involved in different scams involving more than Rs 12 lakh crore.
In sharp contrast, he said no opposition political party could bring any charge of corruptions against the present NDA government.
He alleged that the Left Front government, which was ruling Tripura for the last 22 years, had failed to develop the state, particularly in the tribal compact areas.
“There are no roads, drinking water and uninterrupted power supply, but the government boasts of development in the state. This government in real sense is against development because they want the poor should remain poor.”
He said this government would be uprooted in the next elections due in 2018 and added that BJP would form government in Tripura.
Shah said the NDA government wanted real development in this ‘beautiful north eastern region’ and that was why the Look East policy had been converted into ‘Act East policy’.
He alleged that wherever the Communist party was in power the chit fund companies had flourished and duped the poor people of their hard earned money and the situation had been same in Tripura.
The BJP President was accompanied by party general secretary Ram Madhav and Observer for Tripura Sunil Deodhar in Shah’s maiden visit to the state, which aimed at strengthening party.
Ram Madhav alleged that now that Sitaram Yechury became the CPI(M) chief he would take initiative to forge an alliance with Congress.
He viewed that Tripura should get out of the grasp of both these parties for the development, which only BJP could bring.
Shah commenced his Northeast tour on Apr 14 and would return to Delhi from Agartala on Tuesday.
