The winner of last year’s Great British Bake Off, Hussain revealed on Friday at ITV’s show “Loose Women” that she had got the honour of baking the cake and it would be “very citrusy”.

She told the TV station, “I can’t get the words out” but added that she wanted to “drown it out” because she was so nervous.

She told her co-participants at 'Loose Women', “How often do you get to say that you are baking Queen’s birthday cake?”

“I can’t say no to the Queen, can I?”

Nadiya Hussain is going to make an orange drizzle cake with orange curd and will be delivering it to the Queen on Apr 21.

She revealed she was very nervous and scared to look at the oven. She was told to make the cake a couple of weeks ago but made the news public on Friday.

The Bangladesh-origin mother of three, who lives in Luton, said she had told her children, who have become “good at keeping secrets”, about it.
