Habibul has been put in charge of the selection for the Bangladesh women's national team.
Sajjad will join Faruque Ahmed, the chief selector of the previous committee, and Minhajul Abedin in the selection panel, the core of the selection committee which also includes the head coach and the manager.
Former Bangladesh batsman Sajjad, who played two matches for the national team in the 1995 Asia Cup, had been working as a selector for the age-based youth teams for some time.
"We are promoting one while the other is being demoted. Sumon (Habibul) will go to the women's committee. He will oversee things there alone…while Shipon (Sajjad) will move higher."
