Bairstow's unbeaten 108 off 48 balls, with eight fours and nine sixes, see Punjab secure the win with eight balls to spare
The Bangladeshi cricketer’s ten-wicket haul and scores of 48 and 5 in the Mirpur match raised his rating from 431 to a career-best 489.
His previous best was 443, which he achieved this January following a Test against New Zealand at Christchurch.
The boost from the Dhaka Test may take him beyond the reach of India’s Ravindra Jadeja, who Shakib has been battling for the top spot. The difference between the two has now increased from 1 to 59 rating points.
The other cricketers in the top 5 are India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and England’s Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes.
