Bangladesh Cricket Board Media committee chief Jalal Yunus broke the news at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

"Mustafizur is supposed to return to the country the day after tomorrow," Yunus said.

Specialist surgeon Andrew Wallace performed the operation on Mustafizur's left shoulder on Aug 11 at London's Cromwell Hospital.

BCB's lead physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury went to London to stay by Mustafizur, who had gone under the knife for the first time, and will accompany the 20-year-old seamer on his return journey.

After the surgery, the youngster was under the observation of surgeon Wallace, who had another observation of him on Wednesday at Fortius Clinic.

Mustafizur, who sustained the injury after playing two matches for the county team Sussex Sharks, took to workouts in England to keep his arms and legs from becoming stiff.

Yunus said Mustafizur had already begun the preliminaries of his rehabilitation in England and would be able to work towards getting back to the field after returning home.

"Hopefully he will be able to begin his full rehabilitation four weeks later."
