Although the all-rounder is out of danger for now, he will be kept under observation in the neuro intensive care unit of Dhaka's Apollo Hospital for at least 24 hours.
The incident occurred in the 25th over of the match when he tried evade a bouncer from Abahani pacer Taskin Ahmed but got hit on the lower right side of his neck at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
The 27-year-old southpaw collapsed on the wicket after the blow and was stretchered off the ground before being rushed to the hospital, but he managed to stay conscious.
Monirul Amin, BCB physician attending to Shuvo, said CT scans and MRI had not revealed anything threatening.
Scans showed a slight fracture in the second cervical spine but it may have been there from before. He would be kept under strict observation, Amin said.
