Electing to bat first in the last quarter-final, Pakistan managed a modest 227 for 6 despite a superb century by Umair Masood (113) at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Monday.

Half-centuries by West Indies skipper Shimron Hetmyer (52) and Tevin Imlach (54) helped their team cruise to the win in 40 overs.

The Caribbean team will take on hosts Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.

Pakistan collapsed to 57 for 5 in 21 overs. Masood then took charge and put 164 runs on the scoreboard in 28.1 overs with Salman Fayyaz (58 not out).

Masood studded his 114-ball innings with 15 boundaries and two sixes before falling in the last over.

West Indies openers Gidron Pope (25) and Imlach were off to a flier in the chase. After Pope walked back, Imlach and Hetmyar added 77 runs for the second wicket.

West Indies then lost three quick wickets to slip to 147 for 4, but Shamar Springer (37), Jyd Goolie (26 not out) and Keemo Paul (24 not out) took their team past the line with 10 overs to spare.
