Allround Nasir stars as Bangladesh A beat India A in second one-dayer

Allrounder Nasir Hossain displayed a brilliant all-round show to lead Bangladesh A to victory against India A in the second one-day match.

Nasir notched an unbeaten 102 before returning a five-wicket haul as the tourists won the match by 65 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.

Mominul Haque and his men made a fine turnaround to level the three-match series 1-1.

Bangladesh A posted a modest 252 for 8 before their bowlers skittled out India A for 187 in 42.2 overs.

Although India A were off to a steady start in their chase, runs were hard to come by for the hosts.

After pacer Rubel Hossain sent Mayank Agarwal (24) packing, captain and India A top scorer Unmukt Chand (56) led his team to 119 for 1 with an 88-run stand with Manish Pandey (36).

The India chase looked on course but Bangladesh took control immediately after the offbreak of Nasir was introduced.

He broke the stand sending Chand back before Rubel took out Pandey in his second spell.

After Nasir took out Suresh Raina (17), he and Rubel then ran through the middle and lower order, sharing nine India A wickets between them.

Gurkeerat Singh (34), who was taken out by Al Amin Hossain as the last wicket, was the only batsman to reach a two-digit figure among India A's last seven batsmen.

Nasir returned 5 for 36 in 10 overs while Rubel took 4 for 33. Wicketkeeper Liton Das was involved in two catches and three stumpings.

Earlier, a fine century from Nasir took Bangladesh to the respectable total after they were sent to bat.

Soumya Sarkar (24) and Anamul Haque (34) laid the foundation after Bangladesh A lost opener Rony Talukdar for a duck in the first over.

Anamul and Soumya made 60 runs for the second wicket before the tourists suffered a batting collapse and slid to 82 for 5. 

As captain Mominul (3) and Sabbir Rahman (1) went back in a hurry, Bangladesh A lost four wickets for just 22 runs.

Nasir and Liton (45) then paired in a 70-run recovery stand and regained momentum.

After Liton's departure, Nasir added 50 more with Arafat Sunny (17) before notching another 40 with Rubel (9 not out) to help Bangladesh cross 250. 

Nasir's 96-ball innings had 12 boundaries and a six.

Rishi returned 3 for 44 while Karn Sharma chipped in with two wickets.

Bangladesh suffered a huge 96-run defeat in the first match. The third and last 50-over match of the tour will be played on Sunday at the same venue.
