He has been replaced by Abul Hossain in the squad for the final Test, which will kick off on Wednesday.

It may take three to four weeks for Rubel to recover from the side strain and his rehabilitation will start soon, said Bangladesh physio Bayjedul Islam in a statement on Monday.

Rubel was uncomfortable on the fourth day of the first Test in Khulna.

His injury was confirmed after a scan in Dhaka Monday.

Bangladesh earned their first draw against Pakistan in the first Test after a brave show. Rubel conceded 82 runs without a wicket.

His replacement Hasan had scored a century on his debut. He hit the astounding ton at No. 10 against West Indies in Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in 2012.

Niggling injuries kept the 22-year old out of the Tigers’ squad. He played the last of his three Tests in March, 2013.

He has 165 runs and three wickets in the longest form.
