The young Tigers extended their lead to 5-1 in the seven-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

Saleh Ahmed and Nihaduzzaman demolished the Proteas batting to bundle them out for 174 in their chase of 219.

The hosts were off to a poor start and were reduced to 44 for 3 after electing to bat.

Topscorer Shafiul Hayet (83) and Mehedi Hasan (57) played gritty knocks. They combined for a huge 138-run fourth-wicket stand to take Bangladesh to 182 for 3.

They smashed five boundaries and a six each.

But after Lesego Senokwane sent the two back in the 38th over, the rest collapsed adding just 37 runs.

Dean Foxcroft returned 3 for 44 in 8.2 overs for South Africa.

In reply, Rivaldo Moonsamy (61) got the tourists off steadily after losing a wicket early, on 8. He paired with Foxcroft (26) for a 73-run second wicket stand.

After Foxcroft was castled by spinner Saleh in the 19th over, the Proteas side lost wickets regularly and were skittled out in 45.1 overs.

Saleh ended on 5 for 25 in 7.1 overs while Nihaduzzaman returned 3 for 23 in 8.
