But he will not get any support from the board, if he is ‘guilty’, said Nazmul Hassan on Tuesday.

Talking to reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, he said he did ‘not like indiscipline’.

“If he committed any crime, he will be punished. There is no chance for him to get any support from us,” he said.

Actress Naznin Akter Happy filed the case with the Mirpur Police alleging that the cricketer cheated on her.

She said Rubel had promised to marry her and the two shared intimate relations for nine months after having got in touch through Facebook.

Hassan said: “The law of Bangladesh will take its own course. He has to suffer the punishment he deserves (if he is guilty).”

The High Court granted the cricketer a four-week anticipatory bail on Monday afternoon in the case.

The legal battle has cast uncertainty over Rubel’s inclusion in the World Cup squad that BCB will announce in the first week of January.

“It’s difficult to say now (if he will be in the team). It can be said in 10-15 days. The situation will determine his place in the squad.”
