The game’s governing body said in a media statement on Thursday that the Bangladesh opener has been fined 15 percent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct.

Masakadza has been let off with rebuke.

The Zimbabwe opener was sent back by Mashrafe bin Mortaza in the match through a controversial caught-behind decision by the umpire at Mirpur on Wednesday.

The batsman stood his ground for some time after he was adjudged out despite the ball not making any contact with his bat.

As Masakadza was on his way back he became furious with Tamim, who stood nearby and said something. The batsman attempted to rush towards his Bangladesh counterpart but was held back by a teammate who dashed into the field to calm him down.

Masakadza hit the ground with his bat too while walking back.

The ICC release said no disciplinary hearing was necessary as Tamim admitted the charge.

Umpires Anisur Rahman and Chris Gaffaney and third umpire Sharfuddoula levelled the charges against Tamim and Masakadza while match referee Ranjan Madugalle sanctioned the penalties.
