No cricketer has performed the feat in the last three decades.

The spinning allrounder returned 5 for 80 in the first innings, which restricted Zimbabwe to 368 helping the hosts to take a 65-run lead.

Before that Shakib led Bangladesh with the bat. His 137 off 180 balls helped the Tigers amass 433 runs in the first innings.

His five-for in the first innings took him beside the likes of Gary Sobers, Jacques Kallis and Mushtaq Ahmed for scoring a century and taking five wickets for the second time.

On Friday, he became the third cricketer to bag 10 wickets after scoring a century in a Test. England’s Ian Botham and Pakistan’s Imran Khan had done it before, with the latter’s being the latest on 1983.

Shakib’s scalps included Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor, Elton Chigumbura and Natsai M’shangwe.

This is the left-hander’s first 10-wicket haul.
