These products will be showcased at Bangladesh missions abroad, airports, and key locations nationwide, industries ministry minister says
Their call came from a human-chain, attended by leaders and members of Bangladesh Garments Industry Workers Federation, National Garments Workers Alliance and other labour leaders, in front of the National Press Club on Friday.
They said the workers will not accept it if the owners dillydally in paying up the salaries and bonuses by the given date.
They also claimed that the workers face intolerable pressure to meet the buyers’ additional orders during Ramadan and ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Eid will fall in the first week of July.
The government has already urged the owners of RMG units across Bangladesh to pay the workers their Eid bonuses by the 21st day of Ramadan.
