Grameenphone posts 2 percent revenue growth in 2015

Grameenphone posted a 2 percent revenue increase in 2015, mostly contributed by rising internet data earnings.

The revenue in 2015 was Tk 104.8 billion, the mobile-phone operator said in a media conference on Monday.

Data revenue growth was 66 percent and VAS 31 percent.
 
GP acquired 5.2 million new subscribers last year, taking its client base to 56.7 million.
 
Data subscribers grew by 45 percent to 15.7 million and data volume rose almost threefold during the year.
 
The net profit after taxes was Tk 19.7 billion. The operator has recommended a final dividend of 60 percent of the paid-up capital for 2015.
