Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the Tk 2 billion complex on Saturday, 10 years after the construction started.

The project aims at bringing opportunities for all sorts of businesses under one roof.

Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the owner of the building, organised a news conference at Bangabandhu Conference Centre on the fourth floor of the building on Wednesday ahead of the inauguration.

CCCI leaders said there will be banks, exhibition halls, a shopping mall, a food court, conference rooms, health clubs, banquet halls, billiard rooms, snooker rooms, tennis courts and swimming pools in the building.

The 10th to 20th floors have been booked for five-star hotels, they said. There will be a helipad on the rooftop.

The CCCI leaders said the World Trade Center built in Chittagong is a member of World Trade Centers Association in New York.

CCCI President Mahbubul Alam said in the conference, “A world class port needs a world class city.”

“It’s not only a building. It has been constructed to give all businesses the opportunity to operate under one roof,” he added.
