Shariful Islam, a vegetable vendor at Fakirapool, told bdnews24.com: “There are very few customers at present. Even the supply from the wholesalers has dropped due to rain and Eid.”

Wholesaler Md Selim of Karwan Bazar said, generally, the supply a week before and after Eid used to be low due to traffic gridlocks on the highways.

This year, the rain, too, contributed to the price hike.
