The judgment, delivered by Sylhet Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal judge Abdur Rashid on Monday, acquitted another accused, Special Public Prosecutor Abdul Malek has said.
He said the convicts had also been fined Tk 100,000 each, failure to pay which will have them spend a year in prison.
The three condemned to death are Airport Police Station former constable Ebadur Rahman, Awami Ulama League Sylhet district unit General Secretary Nurul Islam alias Abdur Rakib and so-called police informant Ataur Rahman Geda.
They were present in court when the verdict was pronounced.
Malek said Ulama League leader Mahib Hossain Masum had been let off as the charges against him could not be proved.
Abu Sayeed, a fourth grader at Shah Mir Government Primary School in the city, was abducted on Mar 11.
The kidnappers had demanded Tk 500,000 in ransom from his family.
Police recovered the child’s body from a house in Jhornar Parh Sunatala area three days later.
Sayeed’s father Abdul Matin filed the murder case at Kotwali Police Station on Mar 15.
Police submitted the chargesheet on Sep 23 accusing the four, three of whom later confessed in court to abducting and murdering the boy.
The court earlier recorded the testimonies of 28 witnesses from Nov 19 to Nov 26.
