Jhalakathi Special Tribunal-2 Judge Kiran Shankar Halder passed the order on Monday, Limon's counsel Manik Acharya told bdnews24.com.
Acharya said the verdict on another case against him had to wait due to the judge's absence. “A fresh date has been fixed," the counsel said.
Limon had to undergo a limb amputation after being badly wounded in a so-called gunfight.
RAB had arrested and shot him in the left leg after an ‘encounter’ near his home at Saturia in Jhalakathi on Mar 23, 2011.
The gruesome incident had shocked and stirred the nation.
RAB had slapped two other cases on the student in 2011, charging him for crimes under the Arms Act and for obstructing officials on duty.
The Home Minister recently decided to withdraw both cases that had long pricked the nation's conscience.
Acharya said the state counsel appealed for Limon's acquittal after the home ministry documents reached Jhalakathi.
“The court granted the plea later,” he added.
