The foreign ministry has dismissed media reports about Bangladesh deputy high commissioner in Kolkata being summoned by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

“The news is not based on fact,” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
It says attention has been drawn to some media reports about summoning of the Deputy High Commissioner.
“This is to clarify that upon request from the Deputy High Commissioner, the Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal gave time to her to pay a courtesy call on the Chief Minister on Sept 15,” read the statement.
