Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) troopers have been deployed in Rajshahi City to prevent possible acts of sabotage.

Three BGB platoons started patrolling the metropolitan streets around 7:30pm on Thursday.
Rajshahi-37 Battalion Commander Lt Col Nazrul Islam said the situation in Rajshahi was calm. "But we are monitoring everything."
He said three platoons had been deployed. "But we have two more on standby."
The BGB personnel would prevent act swiftly to prevent any major incident of violence or disorder in the city and district, he said.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said there was tension in the district ahead of the back-to-back programmes of the 14-Party alliance and 18-Party alliance scheduled for Friday.
"That's why the BGB, along with the police and the RAB, have started patrolling since Thursday evening."
