Pilot dies as Bangladesh Air Force training plane crashes in Tangail

A pilot has died after a training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Tangail’s Madhupur, the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate said in a statement.

The pilot has been identified as Wing Commander Arif Ahmed Dipu.

The F7 training aircraft crashed at the Telki Firing Zone at Rasulpur in the district around 3pm on Friday, according to the ISPR.

The ISPR could not immediately confirm the cause of the accident.

The aircraft took off from Dhaka around 2:25pm.

Dipu was commissioned in 1997. He left behind his son and daughter. He hailed from Ishwardi.
