No other place in the world has such a high concentration of universities in such a small area, says an ex-UGC chairman
Mahfuza Begum's throat had been slit, said Ashulia Police OC Abdul Awal after recovering her body on Thursday night.
The 27-year-old's husband Lavlu Miah, a day labourer, has been on the run since the incident.
The couple had been living in the rented room at Ashulia for the last four months. Mahfuza, from Tangail's Kalihati, worked for a garment factory in Narasinghapur.
"Their neighbours became suspicious after failing to get a response from inside the house. Then her body was found. The woman's throat has been slit with a sharp weapon," said OC Awal.
"We believe her husband may have murdered her before fleeing the house."
