Man beaten to death in Jhenaidah on suspicion of thievery
A local mob has beaten a suspected thief to death in Jhenaidah, police say.

The incident occurred early on Thursday in Kotchandpur Upazila’s Boro Bamondoho village, said Police Inspector Biplob Kumar Saha.
The victim has been identified as Farooq Hossain, 40.
Farooq lived at his in-laws’ house in Boro Bamondoho, police said.
Locals told police that Farooq had attempted to rob the home of local resident Aminul Islam, said OC Saha.
When the family became aware of his presence they screamed out and a local mob caught and began to beat Farooq, he said.
Farooq was taken to the Kotchandpur Upazila Health Complex in critical condition and died there soon afterwards.
Police are investigating the matter, but no case has been filed so far, the OC added.
