Two workers die while unloading ship at Chittagong port

Two people have died while unloading a ship at the Chittagong port.

The incident occurred at the jetty No. 8 on Tuesday, port authorities said.

The dead have been identified as Md Atiq and Md Sohel, but further details about the victims were not immediately available.

The workers were unloading tree trunks from a bulk carrier flying a Thai flag, Chittagong Port official Zafar Alam told bdnews24.com.

The two were struck and fell into a deep part of the ship’s hold. The ship’s crew and other workers recovered the bodies later, Alam said.
