Sabina Akter, 11, started the case against Ayesha Latif, wife of Lt Col Taslim Ahsan, at Pallabi Police Station on Sunday.

Police said local residents found the girl crying on a street in Mirpur and brought her to the police station. She had several marks of injury on her body.

The police later took her to the One Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. She was then transferred to the Combined Military Hospital for better treatment, said Sub-Inspector Asif Iqbal.

Sabiha used to work at the house of Lt Col Taslim Ahsan in Mirpur neighbourhood.

“Ayesha used to beat up Sabina frequently. She drove out Sabina from the house on Sunday,” said SI Asif Iqbal, also investigation officer of the case.

Neither Taslim nor Ayesha could be reached for comment.

Lt Colonel Mohammad Rashidul Hasan, director of Inter Services Public Relation Directorate, said they were aware of the matter.
