Finance Minister AMA Muhith will propose the budget for fiscal 2017-18 in parliament during this session on Thursday.

The Business Advisory Committee will fix the length of the session before the session begins. It is likely to be a long one due to the budget discussion. The budget session last year had 32 working days.

Parliament will sit in the first half of the day in this session for Ramadan.

The budget is expected to be passed on June 29. The finance minister said the size of the budget will cross Tk 4 trillion.

Before he presents the proposed budget, the Cabinet will clear the Finance Bill.

Later, President Abdul Hamid will sign it at parliament. He will also watch Muhith’s budget speech.
