He will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, attend a discussion and visit a British aid project during his less than 24 hours in Dhaka from Wednesday evening.

“Our High Commission in London received a letter from his private secretary a week ago where he expressed his desire to meet the prime minister during his private visit. We set up the meeting,” a senior official at the foreign ministry told bdnews24.com, when asked about the visit.

Cameron, who resigned as a Prime Minister last year after Brexit voting, will take a look at a DFID project inside Dhaka and attend a roundtable of the International Growth Centre.

The Growth Centre is based at the London School of Economics and in partnership with the University of Oxford works to promote sustainable growth in developing countries, based on high quality research.

Cameron is the chair of a commission which was launched in March under this Growth Centre. It has an office in Dhaka.
