Following Thursday's raids on militant hideouts in Chittagong's, a suicide bomber blew himself up on Friday at the RAB barracks in the capital's Ashkona, injuring two RAB personnel.

The autopsy was performed at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday. Forensic experts said he died of the blast.

DMCH Forensic Department chief Sohel Mahmud told bdnews24.com that they found electrical wires, belt and duct tape on the body that has been totally damaged.

RAB spokesperson Mufti Mahmud Khan said they did not release pictures of the body as it presented a gory sight.

He told bdnews24.com that they are yet to identify the suspected bomber, who appeared to be in his mid 20s. "A woman from Pirojpur has claimed the dead man to be her son. We are looking into it."

Mahmud said they will go for DNA tests to confirm his identity.

DMCH forensic doctor Sohel said they collected samples from teeth, hair and muscles for DNA tests.

Within a day of the attack on the Ashkona base, the RAB said it has foiled a possible suicide bombing at a check-post in the capital's Khilgaon early on Saturday, killing the suspected attacker.
